The Elk Grove Village Police Department is dedicated to operating a professional law enforcement agency, sensitive to the needs of the people it serves.  The Department has been and continues to be a leader in developing specialized programs to meet the needs of the community.

Department officers have been instructors and students at some of the finest police training academies in the United States.  This includes the Northwestern University's Police School of Command and Staff; Northwestern University's Traffic Institute; the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia; Northeast Multi-regional Training, and Harper College in Palatine.

The Elk Grove Police Department is fully accredited by the National Commission on the Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.  Only 3% of the law enforcement agencies in the United States have attained this status.  Accreditation is only granted after an intensive review of every aspect of the Department's organization, management, operations, and administration to assure that the Department is providing the highest possible level of service following professional law enforcement standards.

If you have any questions about the Department, please contact the Police Department 24 hours a day at the non-emergency number  (847) 357-4100.

If you need the response of a Police Officer or Firefighter, please call 9-1-1.  Our enhanced, state-of-the-art 9-1-1 system is designed to handle any calls where someone needs an Officer or Firefighter to arrive at their location.

If a resident requires a reasonable accommodation for limited on-street parking, they may request permission to park on the street overnight by phoning the Police Department at (847) 357-4100.

Bicycle Registration
Bicycles in Elk Grove are required to be registered for the protection of the bicycle owner.

Please call (847) 357-4100 for information on how to register your bicycle.
