Elk Grove Village purchases its water from the City of Chicago.  Chicago acquires and treats the water from Lake Michigan.  Please phone (847) 357-4060 to initiate or terminate water service.

Water Bills may be paid in person at the Village Hall, return mailed, or deposited in the drop box which is located at the Village Hall.  For questions or concerns about water or sewer delivery, please contact the Department of Public Works at (847) 734-8800.

Elk Grove Village provides an automatic bill payment program which automatically deducts payments of your water and sewer bills from your checking or savings account.  To participate in the Automatic Billing program, please contact Utility Services at (847) 357-4060.

Water Conservation

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth. You conserve up to 9 gallons of water per brushing.

Toilets use 5-7 gallons with each flush. Install a displacement device to conserve water. This is as simple as placing a plastic bottle filled with water in the tank. This will conserve about 1-2 gallons per flush.

Check for leaks and fix them immediately. A small leak can waste a lot of water and cost you money.

Wash only full loads of dishes and clothes.

Take a short shower instead of a bath. This save about 15 gallons.

Keep a pitcher of water in the frigerator instead of running the tap until water is cold. This simple step saves about two gallons per glass.
