Election Information

The Village Clerk is appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.

 
The Village Clerk performs duties as required by State Statute and Village Ordinance:

Custodian of the Village seal and keeper of the Village records

Attends meetings of the Village Board and records the minutes
 
-
Publishes and attests to all resolutions and ordinances approved by the Village Board
 
-
Maintains the Village codes and official documents
 
-
Provides information
 
-
Voter registration
 
-
Administration of elections serving as Local Election Official and Deputy to the Cook County Voter Registration Officer
 
-
Certifies election petitions for referenda and candidacy for elected Village offices
 
-
Provides information on elections laws and location of polling places
 
-
Serves as a member of the Local Electoral Board
 
-
Processes Liquor Licenses, Freedom of Information forms, solicitation and tag day requests
 
-
Legal notices published and public hearings arranged before the Village Board, Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals
 
-
Records management and filings with Cook and DuPage Counties
 
-
Information and brochures on services provided by the Village and other public agencies are available free of charge at the Administration Counter/Village Clerk's Office
